What a cool place, there is a short easy trail that gives you great views of the bluff, inscriptions and petroglyphs. History buffs will love this trail and the longer trail up the bluff to the Pueb…Full review by Bill K

From a trail condition, right now, the Headland Trail has a dead end at the top (past ruins) and you cannot go across the top near the box canyon. 3 sets of stairs to top. Still pretty scenic Inscr…Full review by jeff77664

El Morro is in an undeveloped area, but Grants and especially Gallup, New Mexico, have many reasonably priced franchise hotels. There are several bed and breakfast inns as well as private rentals, but expect to pay significantly more. Also do not forget visits to El Malpais and Sky City(Acoma Pueblo) as they are in the same general area. In fact, the Pueblo has a hotel/casino with a good restaurant.
