Flight to the mainland are reasonably quick took us an hour and a half from Arusha with a stop over in Pemba Island. If you want the full on animal adventure would think you would need to spend a minimum of a couple of days on the mainland. Jozani Forest for the Colobus Monkeys and Sea Turtle Sanctuary is certainly worth 2 or 3 hours on Zanzibar. Good luck

Hi, is almost no difference to Jambiani if you are in Matemwe or Nungwi. Dala-dala is nor a solution, take a taxi or if need more days rent a car with driver for 40usd/day plus fuel.

Most of resorts and hotels are on beach front (latterly), the reef is close to Jambiani beach according to local people, I haven't reached the reef .I hope that I answerd your question.

There are no shops only people walking along the beach selling their goods hand crafts etc. I would recommend you do a tour of the local village very interesting. A massage is always a relaxing thing to do approximately $20 USD. Very affordable to eat out. Unsure what water activity’s cost check with your resort.
