We spent a 4 days Safari in Tanzania, during which we visited Tarangire National Park. It is a unique place, and compared with Serengeti and Ngorongoro here you got an idea how the real African savan…Full review by boszetamas

My wife and I are planning our trip and were curious. If after seeing the Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara, would you choose Tarangire or Amboseli if you could only do one. Why? Thank you.

Unfortunately we haven’t done Amboseli so I can’t compare it to Tarangire. We particularly enjoyed Tarangire because it was very different to the plains of the Serengeti in terms of the extensive marshlands which give it a unique feel. The baobabs are also surreal and the tree climbing lions were a highlight. The bird life was fabulous and we felt that the game count is somewhat higher than the Serengeti as a whole . It was also quieter in terms of vehicles and guests than other areas of Tanzania. We have traveled extensively to reserves in Southern Africa including Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe and we were very impressed by Tarangire . Good luck with your trip !!

Hi, umakantamin. What would you like to know about this attraction? This NP is known for elephants, did you see the big cats lion, leopard and cheetah. Plan for 2 days here, 2 days at Ngorongoro and 1 day at lake Manyara in December 3rd week.

Hi - we saw leopards, lions, and cheetahs in Tarangire. The leopard was up in a tree and there were many safari vehicles around it - so I'm guessing it was rather unusual. We spotted a cheetah mother and cub from far away. We definitely did see many more of the big cats in Serengeti.

The company we used was Easy Travel & Tours our guides name was Thomas. We had the best holiday and didn't miss a think saw all the big 5 and more. Tarangire was excellent for elephants and giraffes Serengeti was amazing for the Cats. We knew exactly what we had to pay while on tour Easy Travel sent us all the information we need even down to our vaccinations before we left Australia also informed us on what we had to tip at different place. Would highly recommend Easy Travel.
