Beautiful beach, but popular with the resorts that don't have their own, so busy. Go early to get a cabana. A bar will sell drinks, or bring your own!Full review by harveydixon

Hey, Cheryl is right about the shuttle and ferry - free. The ferry was very overcrowded (beyond safety standards) when we were on it (but the shore line was close should it have capsized!!). Keep in mind that the schedules are on Cuba time!! Deck chairs on the beach were 2 pesos each (1 peso is about 1 US$; note: change at the airport, better rate than at the resort - CAN$ to Cuban peso). I got a beer for 2 pesos but my wife's Margarita was 3 pesos. We didn't eat on the beach.
We're looking to travel to Cayo Largo this June from Havana, but the only website I've seen for domestic flights, solwayscuba, makes you include your hotel in your reservation. We are staying at an Airbnb. Is there any way around this? Also, how reliable are the flights in the summertime?

Hej Last year the only realistic possibility o get to the island was by flight with Aerogaviota, a cuban line. There are two flights a day on the morning and evening, flight takes some 30 minutes but the whole way hotel- beach can take a few hours. You can book tickets on the web in advance. Another option is that all major tourist hotels sell excursions to the island over the day, so you can buy a trip from them in Havana. Sirena Beach, yes you take a boat across that only takes a few minutes, if you walk up the beach to your right side and to the end are the starfish , but if you feel adventurish it only takes 30-45 minutes to walk around the sand back to where the boats dock, ill be head there again this friday and definatly will be doing that again
