Hi all, We are in Grindelwald in January and want to take the railway up to the north face of the Eiger. Can anyone tell us how long this takes and how much it costs? Once up there how long should we allow to take in the sights? (We are trying to work out if we can do this and then do 1/2 day of skiing in 1 day) Thanks in advance, David

The train journey is around 2 hours each way. Price is roughly CHF 120 return. You can buy a discount pass that gets a 50% reduction - worthwhile if you will be doing a reasonable amount of travelling in Switzerland. I would not plan on doing much skiing- after the tome and expense, you will want to spend a decent amount of time at the Jungfraujoch. Make sure you choose a nice day - it's a lot of money if you only see the inside of a cloud at GE top.
