Iranian media report new Israeli attacks on the west of the country on Monday, after Iranian strikes broke through Israel's iron Dome defences overnight.

CONFLICT ENTERS FOURTH DAY: Israel and Iran have begun a new round of attacks, as the conflict between the two heavily armed rivals enters its fourth day.

Investors have been weighing the odds of further escalation in the conflict and spillover into the broader oil-rich Middle East.

Although Iran maintains that its nuclear program is for peaceful energy purposes, Israel has long seen it as a threat. Israeli strikes have hit three of Iran’s nuclear facilities — Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow. Little damage appears visible in satellite imagery of Fordow.

Israel’s military said it hit command centers of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, while Iranian strikes overnight killed several people.

Hundreds of civilians, mostly in Iran, have been killed by dueling airstrikes despite international pleas for de-escalation.

Abas Aslani, Iran-based journalist and senior research fellow at the Center for Middle East Strategic Studies describes to CNN’s Polo Sandoval on “Early Start” how people in Tehran are feeling, including the unity they’ve found amid Iran’s escalating tensions with Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces said the air force had launched strikes against missile sites in central Iran, as the Middle East conflict entered a fourth day.

The warning came on the fourth day of the conflict, when the Israeli military claimed it had achieved air superiority over the Iranian capital and could fly over the city without facing major threats.
