CARROLLTON, Ky. (WAVE) – Officials says the body of a third victim has been found in the remains of a home that caught fire early yesterday and the search for a fourth person believed to be inside is continuing.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Authorities have recovered a fourth body from a fatal house fire in Carroll County. The massive fire was reported Thursday around 6 a.m. in the 200 block of 5th Street in downtown Carrollton, an hour north of Louisville. Fire crews found the two-story home engulfed in flames.

Recovery efforts are still underway Friday and first responders have so far recovered two victims, police said.

"When we arrived, the house was fully engulfed," Roberts said. Roberts said a 3-year-old girl was rescued from the rear of the house and airlifted to a hospital in Louisville for treatment after initially being taken to an area hospital.

A fourth body has now been recovered after a massive fire engulfed a home in northern Kentucky. Officials say a 911 call was made around 6 a.m. Thursday for a report of a structure fire in the 200 block of 5th Street in Carrollton.
