Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow won't play against the New England Patriots on Nov. 23, The Enquirer can confirm. Several reports surfaced on Nov. 22 that Burrow won't be activated before the game.
“The call to give Bengals QB Joe Burrow another few days to heal up came on Friday after practice—with Zac Taylor prioritizing protecting Burrow, who'd pushed to play. Initial plan was never to play him vs. NE (tho he made a run at it) so going back to that isn't too complicated.”
Dr. Bowers: "I view the risk of re-injury as low. The carbon fiber plate provides solid protection for the toe. However, because he may be returning slightly ahead of schedule, he could be a bit less mobile when scrambling and may have more difficulty escaping pressure. That could lead to a few extra hits on plays he might normally evade."
