Through seven weeks, the Broncos rank 14th overall at 3.8 percent. The Broncos rank 19th in offense (-2.7 percent), eighth overall in defense (-7.5 percent), and 20th overall in special teams (-1.0 percent). Again, DVOA is better for defense when it's negative.
The Broncos are 6-2, quietly in first place of the AFC West ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs. Bo Nix had four touchdown passes against a beleaguered Cowboys secondary. Rookie running back R.J. Harvey had three touchdowns too, two rushing and one on a catch from Nix.
The Broncos are 4-2 and well-positioned to contend for a playoff spot in the AFC this season. Denver's currently behind the Los Angeles Chargers (4-2) in the AFC West due to a head-to-head tiebreaker, but they're above the Kansas City Chiefs (3-3) and Las Vegas Raiders (2-4) in the division.
While two surprising teams own the top two seeds in the AFC, two perennial conference powers are still very much in the running.
