Russia is demanding the United Nations condemn Kyiv following an alleged drone attack that it claims killed a journalist working for a Russian outlet and injured several others.

A Russian drone attack towards the Ukrainian capital on Friday killed one person and wounded four in the Kyiv suburbs, local officials said. Moscow's forces have escalated their aerial strikes across Ukraine through the first weeks of winter, including a New Year's Day drone attack targeting central Kyiv that killed two.

Russia attacked Kyiv with strike drones overnight on January 3. Debris was reported in two districts of the capital, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
