Jordan Melton's mother has been waiting to hear police had made an arrest in her son's murder for 19 long months. That wait is finally over. On Tuesday, officials with the Birmingham Police Department announced that they have obtained warrants for mass shooting suspect Damien McDaniel in the murder of Melton as well as the attempted murder of fellow firefighter Jamal Jones.

Birmingham Firefighter Jordan Melton was gunned down as he and a colleague were conducting routine duties at Station 9.

He is now being charged in the murders of Birmingham firefighter Jordan Melton, Mia Nickson and UPS employee Anthony Love, Jr. He is also charged in the attempted murder of another firefighter, Jamal Jones. 41-year-old Charles Nance of Pinson is also charged in the murder of Love. He's being held in Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
