January's full moon, known as the wolf moon, will make Mars disappear during occultation
Mars will hide behind the wolf moon Monday night as a result of a phenomenon known as an occultation, a fancy word that describes when a celestial body passes in front of another, according to NASA. Mars is currently shining the brightest we'll see it all year, according to Space.com, but the full moon's light will still drown out the red planet.
