Winter storm watches have spread to more areas of Georgia, including Athens, ahead of a snow and ice storm coming this weekend. What's the forecast?

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has declared a state of emergency Thursday ahead of a winter storm that is expected to impact the Peach State this weekend.

The Winter Storm Watch was first issued on Wednesday and mostly included just counties in farther north Georgia. The expanded list of counties includes all of metro Atlanta and extends even into much of central Georgia.
