Northwest Indiana deals with heavy snow, blistering winds in latest winter blast
Northwest Indiana was hit by heavy snow and strong winds while Chicago stayed clear and sunny. A 30-vehicle pileup shut down part of the Indiana Toll Road in Elkhart County, and lake-effect snow made travel difficult in Porter County. Bitter cold and dangerous wind chills remain in the area.
Bitter cold weather is bringing more snow to Kentucky and southern Indiana.Light snow showers moved through the region Friday morning with another round of snow arriving later in the afternoon and evening.
Rain arrives Thursday and Friday across Indiana ahead of a slow return to colder January temperatures, with a light rain-snow mix possible later this weekend.
