In the case of Guardians' slugger Jhonkensy Noel, he might now have a household nickname. That's because Noel, aptly known as Big Christmas, came up with one of the biggest swings of the 2024 MLB playoffs on Thursday night against the Yankees.

The Guardians found themselves down two runs to the Yankees in Game 3 of the ALCS, down to their final out, and needing a big hit. With a runner on base, pinch hitter Jhonkensy Noel stepped up to the plate against Yankees closer Lucas Weaver, representing the tying run.

You don’t just hand somebody a bat and tell them to hit a home run. Not with two out in the bottom of the ninth. Not with your team trailing 5-3 after surrendering a lead in the most soul-crushing way possible.
