A wildfire that started in northwest Colorado on Saturday afternoon has now burned around 4,000 acres. Evacuations and closures have been put in place near two of the fires burning to the south of Meeker.

Two wildfires that started over the weekend on Colorado’s Western Slope have consumed more than 20,000 acres and destroyed at least three buildings, according to fire officials.

Governor Polis declared a disaster emergency Tuesday because a wildfire prompting evacuations in Delta County. That's on the Western Slope.
