WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Congressional Republicans emerged from a five-hour meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday without a deal on how to extend his sweeping tax cuts, though senior lawmakers said they believed they were close to agreement.

The meeting comes as Trump’s GOP allies on Capitol Hill are arguing with themselves over his “big, beautiful bill.”

WASHINGTON—House Republicans, struggling with their narrow majority and lawmakers’ demands for spending cuts, are considering an extension of President Trump’s expiring tax cuts that would last for as little as five years.
