Gibson was fatally shot in the chest around 11:19 p.m. while inside her home on the corner of the 300 block of Hummel Street, next to Swatara Street. Police said someone shooting from the street killed Gibson. She was not believed to be the intended target.

The Houston Police Department said four men in their mid to late 20s were shot multiple times in a grassy, gated lot.

According to the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call regarding a dispute in the Providence Manor subdivision. The sheriff’s office said when deputies arrived, they saw a man shoot and kill a woman outside a house.
