Two new tropical storms were named Saturday and one quickly developed into a hurricane as the deadly 2024 storm season continued to churn across the Atlantic, Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico.

Oscar is packing maximum sustained winds of 80 miles per hour, with stronger gusts in some areas. The storm's center is located approximately 150 miles east-northeast of Guantanamo, Cuba. The storm was heading west at 12 mph and was expected to reach Guantanamo or Holguin, Cuba, on Sunday afternoon at hurricane strength.

Tropical Storm Oscar quickly strengthened into a hurricane Saturday afternoon after becoming a tropical storm near the Turks and Caicos earlier that morning. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Nadine made landfall near Belize City around noon.
