Ukraine’s air force said Russia launched hundreds of drones and missiles towards Ukraine last night. It said initial investigations showed there was direct hits from 14 missiles and 37 drones at 14 locations - and debris from downed targets fell in two other places. The worst-hit regions are Poltava and Kharkiv.

United States Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said “firepower” is coming to Ukraine through European nations’ purchases of US weapons, but whether that includes American-made Tomahawk missiles is still not clear.

A Ukrainian politician has hailed a council's agreement with the region he heads as "extremely important". Suffolk County Council has signed a memorandum of understanding with Poltava Regional Military Administration.

Russian drone and missile strikes caused blackouts across large swaths of Ukraine, damaged residential buildings and injured at least 20 people in Kyiv, authorities said.

Given President Donald Trump’s inability quickly end the Ukraine war, the administration is shifting the burden of the war to Europe.
