The two major airports in North Texas will lose flights should the Federal Aviation Agency follow through with a 10% reduction in air traffic at some of the nation's busiest airports.

US airlines cancelled more than 2,100 flights Sunday mostly because of the government shutdown and the Federal Aviation Administration's order to reduce air traffic.

But analysts warn that the upheaval will intensify and be felt far beyond air travel if the cancellations pick up and move closer to the Thanksgiving holiday.
