In a major update on the Ahmedabad plane crash that killed 241 of the 242 onboard, DNA matches have been confirmed for 202 victims, with 157 bodies handed over to families so far.

The flight was carrying passengers and 12 crew. Only a single British passenger, named as Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, 40, survived. He is understood to have jumped from the emergency door of the Gatwick-bound plane as the flight came came down.

Almost all those on board an Air India flight bound for London Gatwick Airport that crashed shortly after take-off in western India have died, the airline has confirmed. There were 242 passengers and crew on board the plane,
