Three of the pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene, and a fourth victim died at a nearby hospital, according to Fox35 Orlando. Eleven other people at the scene were injured by the crash, including one person in critical condition, according to ABC 7. All of the victims are adults.

The vehicle involved "had previously been observed street racing" and was being monitored at the time of the crash, police said.

Police's Operation Hercules team won the award for their work deploying officers and building cases against street racers.

The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating a case of illegal street racing that leaders called careless and dangerous.
