One of President Donald Trump’s first executive actions upon reentering the White House was to reestablish its most famous mountain as McKinley’s namesake.

The Alaska House has voted to urge President Donald Trump to reverse course and retain the name of North America’s tallest peak as Denali

Alaska House members passed a resolution Monday urging President Trump not to rename Mount Denali to Mount Mckinley. Trump signed an executive order on his first day in office that undid a 2015 order from former President Obama naming North America’s highest peak Mount Denali.

The state Senate is expected to quickly agree with the House's request to keep the name as Denali, which would send it to Washington, D.C.
