The new Detroit River span is at the center of an international standoff between the U.S. and Canada over trade policy.
Fees to cross the not-yet-open Detroit River border crossing will be much cheaper than tolls for the competing Ambassador Bridge.
The span will be “opening this spring,” according to a statement issued by the bridge company on Wednesday.
