Hundreds of flights were cut at airports across the United States have been canceled, with deeper cuts looming in the coming days.

Travelers can expect to see fewer flights to many major U.S. cities starting Friday morning. That's when the Federal Aviation Administration says it will reduce traffic across 40 airports to ease the load on the nation’s air traffic controllers.

The government shutdown has led to numerous flight cancellations and delays coming into and out of Southern California airports over the weekend.
