The sprawling east valley city is now more expensive than Scottsdale for renters. Arizona has one tightest rental markets in the nation due to the shortage of available homes for rent and for sale.

Chandler became the latest city in the Valley to make amendments to better guide short-term rental owners and properties.

Some households in Chandler may be able to receive up to 15 months of rent and utility assistance due to the expansion of a city program.
