A judge banned the IRS from withholding $1,200 stimulus checks from prisoners after officials intercepted the money during the initial round of COVID-19 relief

The decision could mean at least 80,000 checks, which could amount to nearly $100 million, may be sent to incarcerated people throughout the US.
