Massachusetts education officials Tuesday moved to limit disciplinary measures in schools involving the use of so-called timeout rooms, which are most often used to subdue students with disabilities.

New data from the Vermont Agency of Education shows that schools used restraints and seclusion — the practice of physically immobilizing or isolating a student — on at least 55 students since October.
