Macon Blair's remake of the 1984 cult classic splatter film The Toxic Avenger brings the monstrous superhero Toxie into the modern age, but there are still plenty of echoes of the original movie.

As you can see in the trailer below, The Toxic Avenger (2025) is fully embracing the low-budget ‘splatter film’ spirit of the original, which is exactly what the hardcore fans probably want to see.
