Kiara was barely a feature of Mufasa: The Lion King, but the parallels created between her character, Mufasa, and Simba can be paid off in the future.
Kiara is not a new character created for this movie, though; she served as the protagonist for 1998’s direct-to-video sequel The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride.
The Lion King franchise is back in the limelight, but one of the more obscure movies from the series deserves to have some of that spotlight too.
And fans are looking forward to seeing Beyoncé and Blue Ivy's dynamic through their characters on-screen. Kiara last appeared in the animated film "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride" in 1998.
Mufasa: The Lion King will feature Beyoncé and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter as mother-daughter duo Nala and Kiara in the film.
It shares: Mufasa: The Lion King enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick.
“Mufasa: The Lion King” is told as a bedtime story to Kiara, voiced by Blue Ivy Carter, the daughter of Beyoncé Knowles (who returns for a brief cameo).
And 12-year-old Blue Ivy will now be the voice of a character named Kiara, who is the daughter of both. Kiara last appeared in the animated film "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride" in 1998.
