Tom Holland revealed on the “Rich Roll” podcast that he was one of the select few people who knew about Robert Downey Jr.’s bombshell Comic-Con reveal, in which it was announced that the former Iron Man/Tony Stark actor would be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the villainous Doctor Doom.

The Spider-Man star recently revealed that he was one of the few people who knew that Robert Downey Jr. would be returning to the MCU to play Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday before the big announcement hit San Diego Comic Con in July.

Holland and Downey had killer chemistry throughout their appearances together in the MCU, including Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Avengers: Infinity War. And it sounds like that began in the audition room before it extended to an actual film set, with Holland sharing that the Oscar-winning actor helped give him freedom to improvise.
