A Clay County judge ruled against a motion by prosecutors to try Rosa Garza and Shiann Erickson together but granted a petition for harsher sentencing if they are found guilty.

He is charged with 2nd degree murder without intent in the death of Eastyn Deronjic. Deronjic died at Sanford Hospital following a 911 call from an apartment on Belsly Boulevard last March.

He was a high-spirited boy taken way too soon. 3-year-old, Eastyn Deronjic, was found unresponsive in his Moorhead apartment on March 18, 2024 - a day that still haunts the community.
