Sunday night into Monday a winter storm system is going to impact our area with accumulating snow, sleet and freezing rain. Far southern Kentucky will see precipitation switch over to rain for a while Sunday night. The entire region ends with snow on Monday with accumulations likely with that across central and eastern Kentucky. Bitterly cold temps come in behind the snow as temps make a run at zero or below by Wednesday and Thursday.

This afternoon will be seasonable with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s with good sunshine.
First Alert 6 Weather Days: Snow on track for the weekend, intense cold next week
The coldest air of the season will also move in behind the snow. Lows may drop below zero with wind chills could dropping to below -10°. The frigid temperatures are expected to last through a majority of next week. We are on First Alert for Monday due to lingering slick conditions from Sunday’s snow as well as the start of this cold blast.
