The Cleveland Guardians are near the bottom of the league in both runs scored (3.93 per game) and OPS (.679), and unlike the Mets, it’s easy to see why. Outside of Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan, there’s not a lot of offensive talent here, with plenty of negative WAR position players getting playing time on the Cleveland roster.

The scheduled starters are Frankie Montas (3-1) for the New York Mets, and Carson Whisenhunt for the San Francisco Giants. Ryan Walker (1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 K) registered a win in the Giants' 4-3 victory over the Mets Friday.

After a frustrating series loss to the Giants, the Mets will look to turn things around at home against the Cleveland Guardians.

The Cleveland Guardians have moved squarely into the thick of the American League postseason race thanks to some strong play in the second half. They'll have their work cut out for them against the Mets this week.
