Prince William and Kate Middleton have been together for over 20 years, but despite their strong bond, this didn't stop His Royal Highness from once buying his princess a bizarre gift that "didn't go well.

As she continues her return to public life, Kate Middleton joked “I seem to have lost my family!” after she fell behind Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis on the royal family’s traditional Christmas Day walkabout.

George, 11, Charlotte, 9, and Louis, 6, walked alongside their parents Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales, as members of Britain's royal family made their way into St. Mary Magdalene Church for their traditional Christmas Day service.

Kate Middleton had a rough time finding the right present for Queen Elizabeth during their first holiday together. “I can remember being at Sandringham for the first time at Christmas," Kate revealed in the 2016 ITV documentary Our Queen at Ninety.

The royal family gathered at Sandringham to celebrate the holiday, even as Prince Harry and Prince Andrew sat out the festivities.

In addition to Charles and Camilla and William and Kate and their children, other royal family members who celebrate Christmas at Sandringham include Charles's sister, Princess Anne, and youngest brother Prince Edward, and their spouses, children and in the case of Anne, grandchildren.
