Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) said Wednesday that former President Trump did not lose in 2020 “by the words that I would use” — some of his most extensive comments yet on the subject of the last presidential election results.

Trump will speak at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation dinner, which raises money for Catholic charities. His running mate, Vance, is in Pittsburgh for a campaign event at 12:30 p.m. ET. Pennsylvania is seen as a must-win state for either campaign as it has the most electoral votes, 19, of all the battleground states.
