Rasmus Ristolainen scored in overtime and the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 on Tuesday night. Ristolainen tapped a loose puck just across the goal line at 4:34 in overtime.
Joel Farabee’s goal at 5:21 of the second period was the only scoring through two periods. He fired in a backhand shot from the slot as the Red Wings were scrambling in their zone. The Flyers had the game’s only power play and didn’t convert.

Cates only had five points in his first 24 games, but he’s been on fire since gaining chemistry with wingers Tyson Foerster and Bobby Brink. The trio have combined to become the Flyers’ best line and one of the best lines in the entire league in terms of driving play and generating chances.
