After missing the past 14 games due to an ankle injury, New York Knicks All-Star guard Jalen Brunson is reportedly set to return to practice Friday. According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, Brunson is also expected to be listed as questionable to play against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday.
Karl-Anthony Towns, who has carried the load during Jalen Brunson’s 13-game absence with an ankle injury, was a game-time scratch Tuesday before a 105-91 victory against the lowly 76ers at Madison Square Garden. Towns averaged 34.5 minutes over the 13 games since he was last inactive during a loss to the Warriors on March 4.
It's been nearly a month since Knicks star Jalen Brunson suffered an ankle injury in an overtime loss to the Lakers, and while it is clear that the team misses him, New York has managed to put up an 8-5 record in his absence, including five wins in the team's last six games.
New York hasn't released its full injury report yet after playing on Tuesday. Karl-Anthony Towns (knee), Miles McBride (groin), Cam Payne (ankle), Jalen Brunson (ankle), Kevin McCullar Jr. (knee), and Ariel Hukporti (knee) were out against the Sixers. Ty Jerome (knee) is out.
