This offseason, the Knicks remade their starting lineup with two blockbuster trades that brought in Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges along with incumbents Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby and Josh Hart.

Led by a strong showing from Karl-Anthony Towns, the Knicks outlasted a scrappy Brooklyn Nets squad in the battle for New York in a 99-95 slugfest. Towns led the way on offense with a strong 25 points and 16 rebounds along the way. OG Anunoby added 20 points along with Jalen Brunson 's 17 to go along the way.

With Karl-Anthony Towns sidelined with a sprained right thumb — and as The Post first reported, also a bone chip in the same digit — the Knicks flushed a 16-point first-half lead before barely pulling out a 125-119 overtime win Wednesday night over the Sixers at Wells Fargo Center.

NEW YORK (AP) — Karl-Anthony Towns had 25 points and 16 rebounds, Jalen Brunson scored eight points down the stretch and finished with 17 as the New York Knicks beat the Brooklyn Nets 99-95 on Tuesday night.

New York's hold on their arch-rival isn't as close as they would have hoped, but they appear to be turning a corner.

Jalen Brunson was held to 17 points but delivered the go-ahead basket with 2:18 remaining for the visiting New York Knicks, struggled on offense for most of the fourth quarter before making enough plays down the stretch in a 99-95 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday.

In four days' time, the Nets will raise a Vince Carter banner into the rafters of Barclays Center. A reminder of the halcyon days when Brooklyn won.

Simons and Ayton lead the way, with Simons dropping 24 on 6-12 three-point shooting, adding four boards, and three assists. Ayton posted a double-double putting up 22 points, and pulling down 15 rebounds. Avdija also added a double-double, scoring 16 with 10 rebounds.

With the Knicks facing one of the strongest remaining schedules in the NBA — and coming off of a stretch of six losses in the span of nine games —  all wins count evenly.

Brunson, also known for his die-hard Eagles fandom, scored 38 points in the Knicks’ overtime win over the Sixers. During the game, he told ESPN he “absolutely” cosigned Towns wearing an Eagles sweater, and postgame was asked why Towns changed out of his Birds sweater.
