Wildfires in the Los Angeles area forced a relocation of this year’s Genesis to Torrey Pines, which is hosting a Tour event this week.
The tournament was scheduled to take place from Feb. 13 to 16 at The Riviera Country Club, which is in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The PGA Tour is expected to move the Genesis Invitational from Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles to Torrey Pines near San Diego, Golfweek and Sports Illustrated reported Monday. The tour announced last week that the Genesis would be relocated from Riviera due to the nearby wildfires that have ravaged the area.
The PGA Tour is moving the location of the 2025 Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA, a city decimated by a wildfire.
The Genesis Invitational, scheduled for Feb. 10-16 and hosted by Tiger Woods, is moving elsewhere “out of respect for the unfolding situation.”
It decided to relocate in collaboration with title sponsor Genesis, Riviera Country Club and TGR Live, which hosts the event. The announcement of a new venue is expected in the coming days.
