Wisconsin voters rejected an all-out blitz by the billionaire to get a conservative on the state’s supreme court.

Elon Musk has reacted to Judge Susan Crawford defeating conservative-backed candidate Brad Schimel for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. "The long con of the left is corruption of the judiciary," he wrote on X,

Susan Crawford, a liberal, won a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court on Tuesday, easily defeating her Musk-backed conservative challenger, Brad Schimel, in a race Musk said “might decide the future of America and Western civilization.”

Two lower courts had already rejected the legal challenge by Democrat Josh Kaul, who argues that Musk's offer violates a state law.

Republican observers and other experts say Elon Musk's involvement in Brad Schimel's Wisconsin Supreme Court campaign backfired as a strategy.

Crawford won by approximately 10% of the vote share, even as groups supporting Brad Schimel—including Musk’s America PAC—spent vastly more money.

Wisconsin voters go to the polls Tuesday for the state’s Supreme Court election, which is drawing national attention as billionaire Elon Musk spends millions on the high-stakes race, which could have national implications for House races and the 2028 presidential election—and help Musk-owned Tesla.

Crawford described her opponent Brad Schimel as "quite gracious" in his call to her conceding the race Tuesday night.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court currently has a 4-3 liberal majority, with one of the liberal justices retiring, the balance of the court is at stake.
