With less than a month until the January 6 special primary, this seems like a good time to recap how we got to this point and take a look at the six people who currently aspire to the seat.

The Pulaski County Elections Commission has selected two precincts for early voting in the Democratic primary election to fill the House District 70 seat -- one in Sherwood and one Little Rock.

Now, even in a hypothetical scenario where someone gets a proposed amendment on the ballot and that measure passes with 95% of the vote, the Legislature can simply gut that amendment with a two-thirds vote of both chambers.

Pulaski County has outlined a plan for the District 70 special primary election on January 6, 2026, with early voting beginning on December 30, 2025 and ten polling places open on election day.
