Sixteen people are believed to have died in a powerful blast at an explosives plant in Tennessee, officials said Saturday, as crews continue to recover remains and carefully clear the site.

Authorities have found no survivors after an explosion at a munitions factory in rural Tennessee on Friday, Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis told a press conference on Saturday.

"It's a great loss to our communities," Davis said while holding back tears.
