Sony warns current PlayStation Plus subscribers that PlayStation 4 games are no longer guaranteed key benefits of the freebie games catalog.

Now, with January 2025's PS Plus selection approaching its end, a brand-new lineup of games for subscribers to enjoy is set to arrive in February.

Thankfully, that game is part of the PS Plus game catalog and it’s a substantially entertaining game in its own right. There are few things more satisfying in gaming than this series’ slow-mo sniper kills.

Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus subscribers will stop getting free monthly PS4 games starting in 2026, as the company shifts focus to PS5 owners. However, Sony acknowledges that subscribers may still occasionally receive PS4 games through PS Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalog after the change.

As many of our players are currently playing on PS5 and have shifted toward redeeming and accessing PS5 titles from the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit, PlayStation Plus is also evolving with this trend and will focus on offering PS5 titles through the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit starting January 2026,

One of the primary benefits for PlayStation Plus subscribers will be taken away in a year. Sony Interactive Entertainment announced PS4 games will no longer be a “key benefit” for subscribers. Games for the last gen platform will only be offered occasionally through PS Plus’ Monthly Games and Game Catalog perks.

You’ll still have access to monthly PS4 games you’ve already redeemed, but Sony is shifting its focus more fully to PS5.
