TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ( WWSB /Gray News) - An Amber Alert was issued Monday for two missing children from Riviera Beach, Florida. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said 3-year-old Aizon Turner and 11-year-old Akachi Turner, were last seen in the area of the 1200 block of West Sixth Street in Riviera Beach.
There's a new alert system for serious missing persons cases in the city called the "Emerald Alert" — a nod to the color of the iconic Spirit of Detroit statue, Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison and Council President Mary Sheffield announced on Monday, Aug. 18.
A suspect is in custody following a brief Amber Alert Thursday out of Sedalia, Missouri. The child has been located safely.
