Chappell Roan nudged aside Sabrina Carpenter to win the Grammy for best new artist Sunday, capping a remarkably explosive rise to fame for an artist dropped by her last record label.

The new fundraising effort was started by Roan and non-profit Backline to "create a safer and more supported industry for artists to thrive."

Chappell Roan isn’t the only one dropping $25,000 to support fellow artists. After former music exec Jeff Rabhan called out Roan in an op-ed for the Hollywood Reporter, Roan fought back and asked Rabhan to go band for band in donations to Backline’s “We Got You” campaign inspired by her Grammys speech advocating for better healthcare for musicians.
