Charles and Reese continued their dialogue throughout Sunday’s game in Connecticut. And when play heated up in the third quarter, the two got in each other’s faces. It started with Sun veteran Bria Hartley pulling Reese’s braid on a rebound. Reese didn’t like it and shoved off an intervening Sun player. Charles didn’t like that either.
Tina Charles knows what elite rebounding looks like — she’s built a WNBA career on it. And after facing Angel Reese in the Connecticut Sun’s 78-66 loss to the Chicago Sky on Sunday, Charles saw something that reminded her of her younger self.
The game was full of tension. The Sun were called for five technical fouls and one flagrant foul while the Fever were whistled for one technical foul and one flagrant foul.
