Frank Ragnow's return to the Detroit Lions has taken a brutal and stunning turn for the worse. Just days after Ragnow and the Lions announced his intentions to unretire and return to the team, the Lions released a statement on Saturday morning saying that Ragnow failed his physical and will not be rejoining the team this season.
The Lions lost 31-24 to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, Nov. 27 at Ford Field in Detroit, further complicating their path to the NFC playoffs. Detroit also suffered a key injury that may have significantly hampered their offense, with star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown ruled out for the Lions after getting rolled up on in the first quarter.
The Detroit Lions escaped the Giants and could use that kind of three-phase effort to advance and then succeed in the postseason.
