After a Massachusetts mother was found dead in a park, a GoFundMe page, that was created by her son-in-law, has raised over $4,000 for her memorial service.

Authorities on Wednesday identified a woman whose body was found in a park in western Massachusetts earlier this month.

Makayla Mitchell, 23, of Park Forest, was charged with one felony of first-degree murder and one felony count of murder with a strong probability of causing death or injury.

After a woman was found dead in Forest Park in Springfield on Jan. 7, officials are investigating it as a homicide. Police responded to reports of the 5 p.m. discovery of the body in the area of 300 Trafton Road near Camp Star Angelina, said Ryan Walsh, police spokesman.
